Brad Marchand leads Providence rookies in scoring with 16 points in 34 games. One was born May 11, 1988 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The other, exactly two months later in Drumheller, Alberta.
Little did they know at the time, or for the next decade for that matter, that once their paths would cross, their individual courses seemed destined to be parallel.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins center Jeff Taffe has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 28, 2008. (AP) — Justin Pogge only wanted a shot to prove himself as an NHL goaltender. Four years after Toronto drafted him 90th overall, Pogge finally made the most of his big chance.
