Canadiens sign goaltender Sanford

  Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today the signing of goaltender Curtis Sanford to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2009-2010 season.

Sanford, 29, competed in 35 games over the past two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks compiling a record of 11-11-1 along with a 2.69 goals-against average a .903 save percentage and one shutout.

Ex-goalie Goehring rejoins Crunch as assistant coach

  The Syracuse Crunch announced today that former goaltender Karl Goehring has been named the club’s assistant coach. He will join head coach Ross Yates and assistant coach Trent Cull behind the Crunch bench.

Worcester adds offense with forward Trevelyan

  Worcester Sharks general manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the team has signed forward T.J. Trevelyan to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Trevelyan, 25, played 76 games with the AHL’s Iowa Chops last season recording 47 points (23 goals, 24 assists) along with 18 penalty minutes. He tied for the Iowa team lead in goals and ranked second in points.

Blackhawks sign Cullen to one-year contract

  The Chicago Blackhawks, parent club of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs, have signed center Mark Cullen to a one-year contact.

The Manitoba Moose announced today they have signed goaltenders John Murray and Daren Machesney, and forward Tommy Maxwell, to American Hockey League contracts.

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the AHL’s Springfield Falcons, have agreed to terms with goaltender Devan Dubnyk, defenseman Dean Arsene, and 2009 NHL Entry Draft choice Toni Rajala.
